Our Little Hair Stylist

I haven’t really had anything to post lately until today. On Friday night, Ryan noticed that Alex was busy primping in front of the bathroom mirror with a comb. He laughed and left her to her primping. A little later she came to me and looked fine until she asked for help to get the comb out of her hair. Boy was it tangled! I tried without any luck to get the hair out. I took her to Ryan and we decided that we would try to cut the comb out. It was such a mess. I don’t know how she got it so tangled up. It took us about 10 or 15 minutes, but after cutting the comb into tine pieces and a lot of patience, we were able to get the hair out without having to cut any of her hair - thank goodness! I’m still trying to grow out the hair she cut off back in Jan.

Snow Day

The first snow of the year Oct. 8th .
The first snow was early this year and it’s pretty much all gone today, but it’s still freezing outside. Alex saw the snow first thing Sat. morning and wanted to go out side. I had forgotten how much she loves playing in the snow. She still wants to play toady with what snow is left in the backyard.

I was at the mall today getting some hair product when I decided to get Connors hair cut. He has needed it for some time now and the girl was free at the moment. I really wish I would have had my camera there, but I didn’t. Lets just say he was one unhappy camper, but the end result was just what he needed.

Pumpkin Love

This year we decided to plant a garden, but got a late start. We didn’t even plant anything until early July. However, several weeks earlier Alex found the pumpkin seeds and “planted” them herself in the corner of the garden. We didn’t think that they would make it, especially after Ryan had tilled the garden in preparation for our seed planting. While the garden we planted was a big disappointment, to our surprise Ally’s pumpkins flourished. They, by far, outgrew anything else in the garden.

Last night we helped her pick two of her pumpkins. Now all she wants to do is carve them – she asks several times a day if she can carve them and if it’s Halloween yet.

Under Construction

Just a little update on our bathroom. We have finally started the demolition and soon reconstruction. We are really looking forward to have our second bathroom back and working in the next week or two.

Home Sweet Home

It’s so good to be home with the kids. Yesterday my step dad picked us up from the airport and the kids were still at grandma and grandpas. When we finally got to the house Ryan and I were like little kids on Christmas morning. We were so excited to see the kids and they were just as excited to see us. We had a great time, but did miss out on seeing Connor get more adventurous with walking. When we left he would take 4-5 steps, but he’ll now walk halfway across a room! He still prefers to crawl, but is working on walking and won’t be crawling much longer.

New York and Boston were so much fun. They are both so different as well. New York is obviously bigger, flashier (and dirtier). Boston is filled with history and has so many great New England trees. The tree lined streets, especially in the suburbs, were really amazing and beautiful.

That was all just in New York. Boston has a whole other list of its own, but I won’t bother you with that list. The greatest part about Boston for me was that I was able to see Andelyne. Next time (if there is a next time) I’m hoping I can spend more time with her. Ryan and I spent all of Friday and Saturday touring around Boston so only at night were we with Andelyne and Her husband Ben.

So that was our trip it’s going to be a long time before we are able to go on another trip without the kids, but I wanted to thank everyone again that watched the kids.
