Just Another Day

As I was on my hands and knees cleaning up blue toothpaste off the carpet that Hayden had got to, I started to think. A lot of people have been asking me how he has been doing lately and my response is “good, he hasn't done anything too bad for a while,” but I guess that’s not entirely true.

I think what happened is that I have learned to deal with things a lot better. I am coping much better with our little Dennis The Menace.

He still gets into bags of suckers that I could swear I hide really well, he as dumped half a gallon of milk on the floor recently and along with the toothpaste today, I found two bottles of cake sprinkles emptied into my can of baking powder. It's all just stuff, and I have come to the realization that I can yell at him and the other kids and be mad all day, or I can send him to his room take a deep breath and maybe take a picture or two if the camera is handy and clean it up.

All I can say is every Mom with a two year old should really have a good wet-dry Shop Vac. That thing has saved our carpet more than once. It's just too bad we didn't think to use it when he poured green paint on the carpet.

Dennis the Menace

Sometimes I wonder if we should have named you Dennis…Dennis the Menace. Every day Hayden seems to be getting into to something (often many things) that he shouldn't be.

A couple of weeks ago he combined all of the flour, sugar and salt containers. On Saturday he found a bottle of baby powder and squeezed it out all over his and Connor’s room. Surprisingly he kept the Sabbath day holy and didn’t get into anything on Sunday. The fun continued on Monday, when he poured out two bottles of hair detangler and half a bottle of spray gel on the carpet . Last Tuesday he got into our bathroom two times without me knowing. The first time I caught him pretty quickly after he had sprayed hair spray and lotion on the floor. Then later I went in to find that he had got the hair clippers attachments out, opened a bar of soap, looked throw all the drawers and put all my makeup wedges in the toilet.

This list of “menacing” goes on…he has poured dish soap, toothpaste, A&D diaper cream, and lotion all over the carpet. He has opened a bottle of gummy vitamins and eaten half the bottle. Now I know what you are saying…why isn’t your house better 2-year old proofed? Well, we have locks on several cabinets, we lock our bedroom and bathroom doors as often as we remember, but he’s a smart and sneaky kids who somehow finds a way to create all this fun!

It has gotten to the point where a lot of the times, but not always I just have to laugh or shake my head. What is wrong with this kid? Nothing, he is a two year old kid, right? Sometimes I wonder what room I'm going to walk into and what I’m going to find. Our little Dennis the Menace…got to love him.

Janet Wilson Bronson

Janet Wilson Bronson, 63, died on January 21, 2011 while surrounded by many loved ones, after battling leukemia for nearly two years.

Janet was born on May 6, 1947 in Bountiful, Utah to Cornell Wilson and Marie Lilly Gywnn. She married Gary L. Blosch in 1966 and had four children together. She later married Van Lynn Bronson in the Salt Lake Temple in 1990. She made Highland, Utah her home for the past 35 years. Janet was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was extremely talented, full of wisdom and loved by all her knew her.

Janet is survived by her husband Lynn, four children, five step-children, 25 grandchildren and five siblings. Children: Tyson, Esha, Shaler Blosch and Zenica (Ryan) Sanford. Step-children: Mike (Linda), Paul (Dana), Mark (Kimberly) Bronson, Angie (Dan) Pluid and Annette (Gary) Miner. Siblings: Dennis (Kay) Wilson, Pam (Ron) Ludwig, Mike Wilson, Cathy (Ross) Thomason and Craig Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Highland 23rd Ward Chapel (6400 W. and SR 92, Highland). Friends and family may attend a viewing at the Warenski Funeral Home (1776 N. 900 E., American Fork) from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening and at the church on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Highland City Cemetery.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses, who provided such loving care, from the Huntsman Cancer Institute, University of Utah Hospital, Promise Hospital, Heritage Care Center and American Fork Hospital.

I want to first thank everyone for all their thoughts and prayers and for all the visitors that Mom has had the past few days. She has enjoyed getting visitors.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday Mom was at Heritage Care Center in American Fork, but on Sunday she was moved to the American Fork Hospital. They moved her to the hospital because of low blood oxygen levels. They think she is showing signs of pneumonia and congestive heart failure. They are treating her and making her as comfortable as possible. We will continue to watch her and stay by her side.

This Sucks

I hate to even be writing this, but I feel like it’s important for those that check my blog and I also feel like I just want to get it off my chest.

Yesterday was moms “new birthday.” That means that a year ago yesterday Mom had her bone marrow transplant. She has had a rough year with multiple surgeries for her back and knee and also lost sight in one of her eyes. She has struggled to eat on her own and still has not been able to walk on her own.

On Monday mom went in to have some test done, the results came back yesterday and they were not good. Mom’s leukemia is back in full force and at this point there is nothing more that they can do for her. They have said that she might have two to four weeks left.

We will be going down to Utah this weekend and then I will be going back and forth over the next few weeks to be with her. This has been a long struggle for Mom. We were hopeful that the treatments would work, but knew this might happen.

We are grateful we get to spend time with her, but are not looking forward to seeing what her and her body will go through in the next little while.

Thank goodness for the gospel and the knowledge we have.

Our First Christmas at Home

We had a great Christmas week. We all got up, packed and drove down to Utah on Thursday to have our Christmas Eve (Eve) dinner with Ryan's family - it's always so good to see everyone and have great food. Friday morning we packed up and headed home. We stopped in to see my Mom and the hospital made an exception and let Alex see her. Ryan and Connor really wanted to as well, but Ryan had a cold and Connor was getting it too so all the boys stayed in the car. It was great to see mom but hard too. We normally spend Christmas at her house every year, but we were also excited to have Christmas at our house in Idaho for the very first time in eight years and it didn't seem to disappoint, we had a great time.

Christmas Eve we did some of our traditions; feeding the reindeer, opening Christmas p.j.'s and making cookies for Santa. Then it was off to bed.

The kids woke up around 7:30 - not bad. They were all really excited about their pillow pets that Santa had left and all the other gifts too. Alex played all day with her Play Doh Cake Maker and Bendaroos. Connor carried his pillow pet around every where and Hayden well he kind of played with everyone else's stuff. He got a little jeep to ride on and he likes it but her really likes Connor’s Buzz Lightyear more I think.

Ryan was really sweet and got me a cashmere sweater, a pearl necklace, and really cute slippers. I love all of the gifts, but the electric blanket that he also got me has gotten the most use so far - I LOVE it! It is the best gift ever, I know that’s silly but I really do love getting into a warm bed.

To make things even better Ryan liked every thing I got him this year. I am only going to have to take one thing back and it's because it doesn’t really fit, but he says that he really wishes it did because he really liked it. I'm either getting better at buying for him or he is getting better and receiving gifts. J/K Ryan I like to give you a hard time.

After all the presents were opened Ryan and I started to make brunch, well Ryan did I helped with the eggs, but we all know he is a better cook and he likes to cook so I don't get in the kitchen that much when he is around.

It was a great Christmas and I can't wait to do it all over again next year at home.

Hayden Blosch Sanford Was Born

2 years ago Hayden came into our family and things have never quite been the same.

Hayden is the happiest, craziest, and most active little boy ever. He loves playing with his brother and sister and a lot of the time he bugs them without really knowing it, but isn't that what little siblings do best? He loves them both a lot and loves to give hugs and kisses.

On Friday we drove down to Utah and took the kids to Hogle Zoo, which they loved, and we had a lot of fun. After spending the day at the zoo we went to Ryan’s parents for a fun night. Hayden got to open all of his presents and even Connor and Alex got something from grandma and grandpa (they are so sweet).

Hayden is obsessed with cats and suckers. Those are probably his two favorite things right now and he can’t seem to get enough of them. He also loves trains, cars, being outside and pretty much anything boyish.

His dislikes...well he doesn't really have many dislikes, but he doesn't like to go to sleep, and he’s not a fan of being left alone. Most of the time he wants to be where the action is and will usually stop doing whatever he’s doing if you walk out the room and follow you. He has what I call left-out syndrome. He is the funniest kid.

We love you little man.

Connor's First Day of Preschool

Connor started his first day of preschool this year. This is his second year of preschool and he gets to ride the bus again which he really likes. It’s a good thing he’s an early riser, because the bus picks him up at 7:15 and he gets droped off around 11:15 giving me and Hayden a good 4 hours of alone time which has been great.

Here is another picture of Alex heading off to school she loved her outfit, so we had to take another school picture. She’s a cutie, I can't help showing it.

This Week

Quite a bit has happened this week. I thought the easiest way of sharing would be to list a few things along with pictures.

· - After five days at a care center mom was rushed back to the hospital for a very high fever that they couldn't get down. After some tense hours, they were able to stabilize her vitals and she appears to be recovering.

· - Hayden moved into a big boy bed and for the most part has done great. He did have a night when he woke up crying at 2:00a.m. crying but went back to bed after Ryan spent a few minutes with him.

· - Alex started school on Monday and loves it. Wow, I can’t believe she is in first grade. She also gets to ride the bus which she loves.

· - A huge part of our landscaping went in! We got the sprinklers, lawn and trees in. It all happened so fast, now we have to work on the flower beds.

Okay so maybe it doesn't seem like a lot, but they are all big things that have happened so I wanted to share them.

Graft-Versus-Host Disease

On Wednesday Lynn told me that Mom has graft-versus-host disease (chronic form), they are treating it with multiple medications.

Graft-versus-host disease is a fairly common complication of bone marrow transplants where the immune cells in the transplanted marrow recognize the recipient as "foreign" and mount an immunologic attack on tissue and organs. Because it didn't manifest itself until now, it should be easier to treat than if she got it the first 100 days after the transplant. We still don't know how it will impact her health long-term.

The medications are helping. I did talk to her tonight and she did seem to be doing okay. She said that she didn't feel well, but was feeling better then she did a few days ago.

I just keep wondering what will be next, she really needs to catch a break. Poor Mom.

Wow how Things Have Changed.

I was looking back at some old post of pictures of my sweet Mom. She has gone through so much in the past 15 months and every day she amazes me with how strong and faithful she is.

This past two times have been kind of hard to see Mom and the drastic changes that she has gone through, but I love her so much and even though she looks a lot different she is still as beautiful as ever.

I love you Mom with all my heart.

Little Update on Mom

So mom is still in the hospital. She was scheduled to go back to the rehabilitation center today until an orthopedic doctor came in to look at her knee that she has been having trouble with. He took a sample of some fluid and it came back positive for a bacteria. He scheduled surgery to in his words, "wash it out" and then clean up some arthritis.

This is now the third surgery in the past seven months. January was her bone marrow transplant, in May she had back surgery and now knee surgery. Hopefully all will go well and she will be able to get to the rehabilitation center and get back to therapy so she can get home sooner the later.

Please pray for her and if at all possible visit her, she would love to have company.

Melaleuca Picnic 2010

Every summer, usually on the hottest day of the year(j/k), Ryan's work has a picnic for the employee’s families and it's always a lot of fun and the kids LOVE it.

They have snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy, and it's all you can eat and it's all free. The kids love all the treats but they really like all the huge blow up toys that they can play on. This year they even had a mechanical bull that Alex rode. They have pony rides, helicopter rides, and they give away a ton of prizes. It really is a lot of fun.

No it's not quite moving day for us yet – but it is for Mom. She is moving to her new "home" today. I say home but we hope she is only there for a few weeks, the doctors think it could be as long as 60 days before she is able to walk on her own and have enough strength to really go home.

Our 4th & Alex’s New Skates

Our 4th of July was the average 4th - we watched fireworks set off our own and had a BBQ. For the most part it was a pretty laid back lazy weekend. Both the boys are sick with a cold and we found out yesterday (the 4th) that Connor has a ear infection. He is doing better now that he’s on some medicine for it.

Today Alex had a dentist appointment to take care of a few teeth she’s having trouble with. She had a cavity filled, a baby root canal, and a tooth pulled. The dentist wanted to sedate her, but it’s expensive and insurance doesn’t pay for that, so we thought we’ll talk to Alex and if she was brave, she could get the roller skates she’s been wanting. It would be lots cheaper than sedation and she would get something for the pain. She was a little nervous at first, but Ryan said she did really good. So I took her to get the roller skates and she loves them. The minute we got home she wanted them on and she has been outside practicing all day.

Unfortunately, she has a little more work that needs to be done in August. Her mouth has cost us a pretty penny and she is only 6! I really hope this isn't how it's always going to be. We try and limit her sugar and she’s a pretty good brusher and even flosses every night. I just don't get it. At least the boys have good teeth so far.

A Lot Has Happened

A lot has happened in the past few weeks and I just haven't got around to posting about any of it. So, I’ll get to the point and make some long stories short with a little simple list. (From oldest to newest)
-Mom went home from the hospital for a couple of days
-Mom got really sick and we almost lost her (Thanks to the docs and nurses in the ICU who saved her)
-I took a quick trip to Utah when things weren’t looking good
-Mom is still in the ICU, but seems to be getting better
-The house is starting to really come along
-Connor started horseback riding and has picked up two more hours of therapy (it really is his 20hr week part time job)
-Got a stupid speeding ticket
-All three kids had temps over 102.0, Alex for three days Hayd for one and Con for two days. (Thankfully not all at once)
-Went to Utah again
-My Dad got baptized
-Went shopping in Park City
-Saw mom again and she is doing even better than the week before.

Now we are home. I am hoping that things can settle down a little, but I'm thinking I'm not that lucky and it’s summer of course. It has been a very interesting month, but the good things have outweighed the bad and I am very happy and grateful for my family and everything I have. I am truly blessed.

Great News

Mom has now been in the hospital for about a month and they are finally telling her that she might be going home this weekend. She has been getting stronger and stronger every day and just the other day she took 60 steps. Yay Mom! They are still trying to get her strong enough to get up on her own, but again are hopeful that this is the weekend she can go home.

The Joy of Building

I love the fact that we are building and how it allows us to customize so many things, but all the choices definitely create a challenge all its own! We have about 7 weeks or so until we move into our new (or so says our contractor) and we still have a ton of interior choices to make - all we’ve really picked out so far in the color of the carpet. Ryan and I joke that it’s the color of dirt (it’s really a nice brown called Harvest Spice).

Anyways back to the point, we’re a little lost when it comes to mixing and matching things and that might sound dumb, but when it comes to decorating I'm at a loss and now having to pick hardwood, tile, and cabinets that complement each other... well let just say I'm getting nervous about the next few weeks. Today we went and tried to pick out light fixtures with some luck, but we still have a long way to go…Oh there is just so much.

Now please don't get me wrong I am so thankful and grateful that we are able to build our own house at this time, but I’ve been a little surprised at just how much time it takes and poor sweet Ryan gives up so much time at work to try and get every thing done that I know it adds to his already busy work schedule.

We’ve be taking a lot of pictures of the house, and there are a lot that you wouldn't care about seeing, but I did want to post a few for the family and friends who have asked to see the progress.

More on Mom

Mom seems to be doing better and better ever day. They think that she will be able to leave the hospital in the next day or two, but she won’t be going home quite yet. The doctors feel like she needs to spend some time at a rehabilitation center, so she can get multiple sessions of physical therapy every day to get some of her strength back. They want her to at least be able to walk on her own before she goes home.

She has one more surgery that she needs and it's for her eye. They need to removal a fungal infection from her retina. Once she is feeling a little better from this back surgery and has gotten some of her strength back they will do the eye surgery.

Update on Mom

My step-brother wrote this last night and I thought I would just copy it. Thanks Paul.
They had to clean up a leak from one of her spinal punctures, remove some fatty tissue and a cyst that was putting pressure on her spinal chord, and do a laminectomy (spread out) some of her lumbar vertebra. Hopefully this will help relieve the pain that kept her from being able to walk.

Breakthrough for Connor

sConnor had a really big day on Monday at developmental therapy. He said 5 words all together. I know it doesn’t seem like a lot, but it’s a big deal for us because normally he only puts two, maybe three words together.

His therapist Cole shot this video with his cell phone. "I want ball please. I want ball please Cole." Cole was excited to show me this when I picked Connor up.

We are happy and excited with the progress Con is making and look forward to seeing him continue to grow and learn.

We’re Moving!

Yes it's true - we sold our house and are moving in a week. Our new house isn’t done yet and won’t be until late July or early August (hopefully sooner, but we won’t get our hopes up just yet). In the meantime, we found a cute two bedroom apartment that we’ll move into next week and put everything else into a storage unit.

We’re very excited and drive by our house almost every day to see the progress it is making. It will be interesting being in a two bedroom apartment for the summer, but there are some real bright sides to it. We’re really close to a nice park, which I have a feeling we’ll be at a lot this summer and people keep telling us that our new house is going to feel huge after living in an apartment.

I don't have any pictures of the house right now, but I’ll try and get some in the next few days.

“Leprechaun Day”

Last night after the kids were in bed we (the leprechauns) put out a bunch of gold chocolate coins in the hallway leading to a small pile of coins for Alex. So at 3 a.m. Connor comes into our room and Ryan woke me up saying Connor smelled like Chocolate. Come to find out his face and PJ’s were covered in chocolate. All the gold coins were gone and we thought Connor had picked them all up.

Turns out that Alex woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and saw them and gathered them all up and put them under her pillow. Being the sweet big sister that she is she put a few on Connor’s bed. Very nice of her, right? We still don’t know whether Connor woke up and started eating the ones on his bed or if they just melted all over him. It was a mess and not that funny at the time.

This morning when I was putting his sheets in the wash I had to laugh. I remembered wiping off his face and one of his eyes were almost closed shut with chocolate – okay, so it was funny after all.

It all turned out to be worth it to see how excited Alex was when she got up this morning. She couldn’t wait to tell us about the “great news” that a leprechaun had brought her gold coins and a new green outfit.

Home at Last

After 47 long days in the hospital Mom is on here way home (11:37a.m.). She has been so tired of being at the hospital and can't wait to be in her own bed and in her own space.

Mom will still needs someone with her 24/7 for the next 53 days. Luckily Esha will be able to be with her during the day for the first few weeks and after that her wonderful friends and ward have offered to help.

I really wish I could be there or at least live closer, but I'm am so thankful for everyone’s love and willingness to help my Mom. Myself, Ryan and the kids are all looking forward to seeing her soon.

I say this all the time it feels like, but it is so true and I don't know what else to say other than thanks to everyone for your love, support, thoughts, prayers and fasting. With Heavenly Father’s love and everyone's support Mom has fought and will continue to fight this fight and beat this cancer.

Coming Home Soon?

Mom is doing great. She is talking, sitting up and even walking a little with the help from a walker and a nurses. On Monday she walked all the way down her hall with a walker. I don't know how far that is, but everyone was really excited about it - so I am too.

They told her that once she is able to walk to the bathroom and back to bed by herself that she’ll probably be able to go home. Yay! She could be home as soon as this weekend, but when I talked to her on Monday she wasn't really sure about that and was thinking it would be more like next week. The sooner the better - we really want her home.

What's Up With Us?

Well first off my Mom is doing great. She was transferred from the ICU to the BMT (bone marrow transplant) floor and has been doing better and better each day. She is still trying to build up her strength given that she lost a ton while laying in bed for over two weeks in the ICU.

Saturday I had my first real conversation with her in almost a month. The last time we really talked was back on Jan. 20th. I remember because it was Alex’s birthday. Anyways she was a lot more alert and she was even asking me questions and really communicating - it's so nice to have her back.

So a lot has been going on with us - we have been crazy busy with Connor, my Mom and now the selling our house. The sign is up and there's no going back. We have found a great contractor and are building our own place and are very excited about it. We’re getting just about everything we want, for less than a lot of other existing homes we were look at. Now we just have to sell our place, so I'm passing on the info. If anyone out there knows of anyone looking for a great house then they need to check out our new blog that we have created for it. Pass on the word and wish us luck.

SICU For a Few More Days

I went to see Mom over the weekend, she is still in the SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit), but seems to doing a bit better each day.

It’s always hard to see someone you love hooked up to so many machines and tubes, but it’s all for the best and I have to keep reminding myself that all those tubes serve an important part in her getting better and helping manage any pain that she might be in.

All of her vital signs look good, but she has been slow to respond to doctor’s commands when they try to bring her out of sedation. They think this has to do with toxins building up in her body because her kidney aren’t function properly. To help clear the toxins, they put her on kidney dialysis Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They’re hoping that once they get most of the toxins out that they’ll be able to take her of sedation and move on with her recovery. The long-term damage to her Kidneys is still unknown.

On a very positive not, her white blood cell count and other blood work looks good, which means that the bone marrow transplant is grafting! Yesterday her white blood cell count was higher than what they wanted, so they’ll watch it closely to make sure there isn’t an infection. Her lungs appear to still be doing good, which is also a positive sign. We’ll continue to pray that she avoids or overcomes any complications.

Mom is strong and we are all praying for her quick recovery.

Top Tooth Missing

Alex lost another tooth today and I missed it. Her top tooth has been really loss for a few days now and today she finely pulled it out all by her self.

I was down in Utah visiting my Mom so Ryan sent me this picture. It's not the best because it was taken with our video camera, but I still think its cute and it made me laugh so I had to post it.

I have been bad about posting on Mom’s condition so here are a couple of recent updates.

1/22/2010

Mom has had a tough few days lately, but is hanging in there. She has been dealing with extreme fatigue, mouth sores, migraines and an aching body. She says that everything hurts. Also because of her mouth sores and the bad taste she has in her mouth she was put on a feeding IV.

As much as we all hate to see her feeling this way it's all part of a normal bone marrow transplant. She is in her 8th day and doctors say that she should be starting to feel a little better in the next few days and that hopefully by day 14 she will be feeling even better.

Again we thank everyone for there love, support and prayers and hopefully we will be able to have a better update next time.

Mom’s situation continues to be very challenging, but at the same time there are some positive things to report on. Last night Mom was transferred to the ICU and had a breathing tube put in. She was having a really hard time breathing because some of the medicine that she is on has made her tongue swell up and whenever she tried to take in air her tongue would get in the way. Her mouth and throat sores have really been trouble for her, but now that she is in the ICU she is doing much better and able to rest better as well.

Last night the doctors said that her lungs were working great and that her kidneys were functioning a little better, which is great news. Because all the medicine that bone marrow transplant patients have to be on the kidneys can sometimes get overworked and potentially lead to kidney failure. So to hear that her kidneys are doing a little bit better is really good news.

This morning the doctors said that she rested really well last night and that this morning she seemed to be a little more alert and would even follow people around the room with her eyes - all very good signs. The doctor told us that she will probably stay in the ICU for 2-4 more days to make sure she can continue to breath well and be comfortable.

We will continue to try and post updates as new news comes in, but at the same time try to be patient with us as we may be a few days behind.

6 Years Old…Where Has the Time Gone?

Alex turned 6 last week. It's crazy that our baby girl is already six. What has happened to the past six years? She is so big and such a sweet, happy little girl.

She had a birthday party with six girl friends from school and the neighborhood. It was a lot of fun and she has some great friends that gave her some really fun gifts. All she wanted for the party was to have a Snow White cake and a piñata so after that, thankfully Ryan was home to help me come up with a few other things for the kids to do. All in all it turned out great and she had a lot of fun and loves her new toys.

Alex has always been the sweetest little girl and she is the best big sister to her two little brothers. She still has more energy then ever and I still wish I could have a fifth of her energy. She loves school, visiting her grandma and playing outside.

Christmas Week 2009

We had a nice Christmas. We spent some time down in Utah with both families. On Christmas Eve we went to Ryan’s parents for our traditional Christmas Eve lunch/ dinner. The cousins got to play together and exchange gifts and all the kids got to open presents from Great Grandma Henderson who lives in Scotland. It's always a lot of fun and this year we were only missing one of Ryan's brothers.

Alex was really into Santa – we made Santa cookies, put out magic oats on the lawn for his reindeer and left him a magic key to get into the house since Grandma doesn’t have a chimney! It all worked out and Santa was able to get into the house and leave the kids presents.

Alex's big gift was a guitar, Connor got a bunch of cars and puzzles, and Hayden got a cool little Fisher Price vacuum which he loves – he is so cute with it. They also got a few small things like pixo's, transformers, etc... It was great and it was so good to be there with my Mom and Lynn.

We were really luky to have Mom home during the holidays and just found out that she will be getting her bone marrow transplant around the 12th or 13th of Jan. I think we are all excited, but a little nervous too.

Ryan took the kids sledding the day after Christmas and we ended up coming home that night. I decided that I really like traveling at night. All the kids slept and when we got home we just laid them in bed.

It was a great little vacation and honestly I'm still enjoying it. Ryan has been either been going into work a little late or coming home early all week. I think next week is going to be a bit of a shock to get back into our routine, but it will be good - Alex has been asking everyday if she gets to go to school. Sorry Alex, you’re stuck with us for another 4 days.

Thanksgiving Week

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun and long we went down to Utah the weekend before and spent 10 days down there. This was the first time I have made Thanksgiving dinner for more than 5 people, but I had a lot of help from everyone - especially my older brother Esha and my wonderful husband who is a great cook.

35th Birthday

Ryan turned 35 on Friday. I remember when I thought thirty was really old and I always like to give Ryan a hard time because he is 6 years older than me, but truth be told I’m now starting to feel old so I think I’ll stop teasing him about it.

On Friday we got a baby sitter and went to dinner and then did a little shopping. After that we went to an indoor go-kart place where you can go as fast as 30 mph. It was pretty fun until we had to stop and I ended up crashing in to a dark storage room and breaking a shelf, it was pretty funny and I couldn’t stop laughing, but the guy working didn’t find it funny at all.

Then next day we kind of celebrated with the kids and had pizza, cake and ice cream. I made Ryan a carrot cake. I think that is what I make him every year. He must like it. He got a few small things from me and the kids, but I think the thing he liked the best was his car. No not a new one, it just looks new. We had it detailed and it turned out really nice and now I want the van done, maybe next year for my birthday.

Well I hope you had an okay birthday weekend Ry and really, you’re not that old, besides you still look like you’re in your twenties.

What A Weekend

What A Weekend e were down in Utah again for the weekend, big surprise I know. It was a crazy and good weekend though.

Ryan was able to go to the BYU football game with one of his friends and I was able to spend some time with my Mom.

That same day (Friday) Alex lost her first tooth. She had it at 5:30 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m. it was gone. She lost it and when I say lost, she really did lose it. I couldn’t find it anywhere in the car and the more I thought about it I think she might have swallowed it. She was eating candy and I really think it got in some candy and before she even know it, it was gone for good.

She did even care about the Tooth Fairy coming or not, but I think we’re going to come up with some creative way for the Tooth Fairy to recognize the event.

Hayden also had a big weekend, he started to walk. He still prefers crawling because it’s much faster for him, but he can now walk pretty far when he wants to. He was pretty proud of himself the first time he took more than three steps. After falling he had to stand up just to clap about it.

It was also conference weekend which is all ways nice, but this time it was really hard to listen to all the talks so I’m looking forward to getting the Ensign so that I can read them.

Well we are now home for almost three weeks and I am so happy to be able to get back into a routine and be home for the next two weekends. There is no place better then your own home and your own bed.

Hayden turned one on Friday, can I still call him my baby boy? I can’t believe he is getting so big.

We had a great time in Utah over the weekend. On Hayden’s birthday we took the kids to Park City and had a lot of fun, then when we had pizza, cake and ice cream at my parents with a couple of my brothers.

It was a small get together, but it was his first birthday so we had to do something. It was fun and I think he really enjoyed the cake. He had quite a long day and after he dug into his cake and opened a couple of his presents, he was ready for bed.

First Fair

Last night we took the kids to their first fair, it was also the first time I have ever been to a fair, that I can remember anyway. Maybe my parents took me when I was little, but I don’t remember. Anyway, I had my first funnel cake and it was good, but I really don’t see the big deal about them. Ryan liked it a lot more than I did.

The kids had a lot of fun. Connor was a little too small to ride most of the rides, but he did go on one. Alex loved riding the worm roller coaster. We also let the kids play a game were you throw ping-pong balls at mini-fish bowls of water and if you get one in, you win a gold fish. The kids absolutely loved that game and our little Con-man even got lucky and made one. They couldn’t stop holding the fish and kissing the bag that it was in. When we got home, Alex named our new $5.00 fair golf fish Lilly. I hope it’s a girl.

We also went and saw all the animals. Hayden was such a good sport sitting it the stroller for about 3 ½ hours and only fussed a few times. After the corn dogs, cotton candy, corn on the cob and all the other fair goodies, I’m sure Alex will be wanting to go back sooner than is possible. There’s always next year.

First Day of Kindergarten

Alex had her first day of kindergarten yesterday. She was very excited to go and I was excited for her.

Ryan came home for lunch so that he could see her off too. She had no fear walking into her class, but I shouldn’t be surprised that is totally Alex, no fear of anything.

After school she was very happy. She told me that they played hide and go seek and learned about being nice and not being rude. Also not to talk when someone else is talking. I’m hoping that she will follow all those rules at home too. 

So far school is a hit and the first day was great. She is such a cute little kindergartner isn’t she?

We just did the family thing last night for Connor. We got some pizza, which is his favorite, then opened a few gifts and had cake and ice cream. It was really low key, but a lot of fun.

I made him a train cake, which by all means was not great looking, but he sure liked it and that’s all I really cared about.

He got more “Cars” toys, a Mr. Potato Head, a Little People set, and some KID K'NEX from his grandma. Not only does he like what he got, but so does Alex and Hayden.

I can’t believe our little man turns three today!

Connor is the sweetest little guy. He loves cars, letters, numbers, reading books, playing outside and playing with his big sister. Whenever he watches a cartoon he has to finds things around the house as props, whether it’s his Lighting McQueen cars when he watches Cars or magnetic letters when he watches Word World or video tapes when he watches Monsters Inc. (he likes to pretend that the video tapes are the doors). He’s got such a great imagination and he loves to learn.

Connor is also the most loving little boy he’s not much of a cuddler, but he’ll always come give you random hugs and kisses throughout the day even if he is in the middle of playing. Sometimes he will just run up to me for a hug and a kiss and then go right back to playing,

A Little Weekend Away

Well we just spent the weekend down in Utah. It had been over a month since we last saw my Mom, so it was really good to see her again. She was in good spirits and was so happy to see her grandkids.

On our way down we stopped in Salt Lake and saw my Dad, who was up from St. George, and my brother and his family. It was good to see everyone.

The kids love playing in my parents huge backyard so on Friday night we just relaxed, played with the kids and watched a few of the neighborhood fireworks for the July 24th Holiday. My parents have a wiffle ball set and Alex is quite the little slugger. Her Grandpa, who was an avid baseball player and coach, thinks she’s got quite an eye for a 5 year old. We’ll have to get her into tee ball.

On Saturday I took my mom out and did a little shopping, but she got tired pretty fast, so that didn’t last too long. When we got back Ryan and I did a few things around the house that mom needed help with and then we went to Costco and spent way too much money. Saturday night Alex had a little daddy daughter date with Ryan and we also lit off a few of our own fireworks, which all the kids absolutely love. It’s pretty hilarious to watch Connor jump up and down and go crazy every time Ryan would light one.

All in all it was a good weekend and it was great to see my mom again and I can’t wait to go back in August when Ryan is at Convention for work.

Great News

Last night Mom got an unexpected call from her doctor with news that he thought she would want to have before her next appointment on Wednesday.

Her latest bone marrow biopsy results came back and they showed no signs of any cancers cells! If you recall, at the end of her first round she still had about 5% of cancerous cells in her bone marrow, most of which were very resistant, so this is great news.

We understand that the chemo treatments will continue as planned. We’ll know more about what this good news means after she meets with her doctor again on Wednesday.

We know that the power of prayer, priesthood blessings, great faith, friendship, support and the care of her great doctors have made this possible. Mom still has a long road ahead, but we are full of gratitude and thanks for this news!

A True Biker Now

Two Days of Cheerleading

Alex did a little two day cheerleading camp this week. On the second day and at the end the parents were invited to come and see what they had learned.

It was really cute. She learned a few jumps and cheers and even a little dance. They gave all the kids pom-poms right before performing and needless to say Alex was a little more interested in the pompom than performing, but it was still cute, and she had a lot of fun and that’s what really counts.

She kept doing her cheers and jumps all day, even doing some cheers with her dad over the phone.

A Weekend at Home

This past weekend was a lot of fun. We were going to go down to Utah, but changed our minds because Ryan has been working so much and didn't even get home until about 8:30 on Fri. night.

It was a perfect weekend to get some stuff done outside. Ryan even planted more of the garden - yes it late, but better late then never. We might get some stuff out of it.

We, mainly Ryan also put in a sandbox for the kids. I really didn't help out that much but I like to think I did. Anyway the kids love it and it's so fun to watch them play in it. Connor was so excited the whole time we were getting it ready and then once he was able to get in and play - it was great.

Sometimes there nothing better than a weekend home in the backyard.

9 Months Old

I can’t believe that Hayden is already nine months old today. He is just the sweetest little boy ever. He is now crawling and even pulling himself up to a stand.

Still no teeth, but that’s okay because he loves table food and would much rather have it than any of his baby food and if he can gum it then I’m fine with that.

He absolutely loves his sister to death. Whenever she walks in the room he gets the biggest smile! Don’t get me wrong, he loves Connor too but lately Connor is having a hard time sharing with Hayden, which makes him so sad when things get taken away. Connor is really trying to be a better sharer but this is the first time he has ever really had to learn to share so we’ll give him a little time.

Happy Anniversary Babe

This past weekend was so much fun. We went down to Utah to celebrate our 7th anniversary.

On Friday, Ryan’s brother was in town from Missouri so we met up with his family for lunch and a little bowling. It was the first time we’d ever taken the kids bowling and they loved it, especially Connor. It was so fun to watch him push the ball and then get so excited.

After bowling we dropped Connor and Alex off at Ryan’s sister’s and Hayden at his mom’s. They agreed to watch them for a night.

Friday night we saw a very funny comedian (Joel McHale – host of The Soup on E!) and then headed to Park City to spend the night.

The next morning we slept in and then went shopping. How lucky am I to have a husband that will go shopping with me…and I think he even enjoys it too.

I Feel Like a Bad Mom

OK, so accidents are bound to happen when there’s a baby around, but it doesn’t make me feel any better, and yes other moms say it has happened to them too, but I still kind of feel like a bad mom. Yesterday Hayden fell off the bed face first and ended up with a little red nose. It was the saddest thing.

When Alex was a baby things like that happened more since she was my first. Connor hasn’t really had any accidents, so I thought I had learned.

I guess having two other kids to care for and pick up after caused a little lapse in my attention. I walked away for a quick second and saw him take the little tumble off the bed when I walked back in the room. We’ll try to keep Hayden’s future accidents to a minimum.

Even with his little red nose he is the happiest baby.

Our Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day Weekend!

We headed down to Utah for my annual visit with Dr. Sampson, a neurologist at the U of U who is keeping tabs on my Myotonic Dystrophy. While we were in Salt Lake we thought we’d take the kids to Hogle Zoo.

Before we headed to the zoo, we had lunch in fun little park and then spent the afternoon at the zoo. We all had a great time. Alex loved seeing all of the big animals and Connor loved getting up close and personal with all of the smaller animals that were behind glass.

Saturday we spent a lot of time with family. Ryan and Alex helped Grandpa Lynn do some yard work and the boys and I just played inside with Grandma Jan. It was great to see my Mom - she is doing great and feeling so much better, but she’ll be heading back to the hospital in the next week or so to start her second round of Chemo.

We also went shopping for the kids and then spent some time with Ryan parents. The kids couldn’t get enough of being outside so we grabbed some dinner and ate at the park while the kids ran wild. It was really fun to just spend so much time letting the kids be kids enjoy the weather.

We came home on Sunday so that we could spend Monday working and playing around the house. Ryan did most of the work. He cleaned out the garage, did some yard work and played with the kids.

Our Life In A Nutshell

Well a lot has been going on with our family lately. I have been spending so much time helping my mom that I haven’t had much of a chance to post anything.

Here’s a quick recap of what has been going on:

First off Mom is doing great. She is home for a couple of weeks and so am I.

Mother’s day was more like “Mother’s Weekend” for me - it truly was great! Thanks Ry.

The kids got there Easter pictures taken and I’m so happy with how they turned out.

Alex finally got to play in her first soccer game and she did great. She had some much energy. Even the sideline cones couldn’t stop her. :) I was really proud of her.

Hayden has changed so much. He says “Da Da,” rolls and scoots all over the place and he thinks he needs to crawl. He has been trying really hard to get up on his knees and it’s been pretty funny. I keep telling people I’m going to put a little weight on his bum to keep him down. I’m so not ready for him to be crawling yet.

That’s about it in a nutshell. I really am happy to be home and I have such a great husband and kids.

Jan's Update (April 16th)

Yesterday mom’s energy was really low. She didn't get much sleep the night before so she was extremely tired and worn down. She did feel better as the day went on. Her doctors said that so far everything is looking great.

They got her 922 (Philadelphia Chromosome) test back from her bone marrow biopsy and it was negative, which is great news. A positive test would have meant that a bone marrow transplant would be required. She may still need one, depending on how treatment goes, but it’s a good thing it’s not a requirement.

Today she will be getting some blood platelet transfusions. Her platelet count is low, which means her blood is too thin and could cause bleeding issues. Once they get her platelet count back up, she’ll then get a spinal tap and also a spinal chemo injection.

I’ll continue spending most of my days at the hospital and will be sure to post any news when I have it.

Jan’s Leukemia Update (April 14th)

My mom has been doing very well the past few days. Saturday she started her chemo and has had two treatments everyday. She’s been getting injection treatments and oral treatments. She’ll get a break from here injections for a bit but will continue taking her oral chemo and then start back up with more injections in a few days.

We are so thankful for all the comments and prayers. Jan really enjoys reading and hearing from everyone. It has meant a lot to her know that she has so much support.

I'm going to continue to be down in Utah for the next few weeks helping out. Several people are going to help watch the kids, which we're grateful for. If there is anyone else who would be willing to help watch our kids while I'm down, please give me a call. (208) 760-9216

The Battle Has Begun (April 11, 2009)

My mom signed all her treatment consent forms this morning for chemo. She will participate in a chemo clinical trial that has been running for several years. Her chemo will be more intense and last longer, but we’re hopeful it will also give better results. The doctors strongly recommended it and there was really no down side to being part of the clinical.

Her red blood cell count was low, so she got a blood transfusion right before her first chemo treatment late Saturday afternoon.

The blood transfusion really helped her to feel a little better and she was feeling pretty good after her first treatment. We know that with chemo she won’t always feel good because the side effects will take a lot out of you, so we’re happy she had a good day.

The first phase of chemo will last five weeks. If all goes well, she may come home in as little as three weeks and complete the rest of her treatments in the outpatient clinic.

She is grateful for the love and support. She had me read her all the comments from the blog. There is no question that the support and prayers on her behalf are giving her strength.

There are obviously a lot of unknowns still, but we will stay positive and ask that people continue to pray for her.

My Mom’s Leukemia Update (April 9th)

We saw my mom tonight and it turned out to be an overwhelming night for her and the family. She got an updated prognosis and treatment options explained to her. She has acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The cancer is very advanced. She has been given the option of starting two different chemotherapy treatments – standard vs. clinical trial. They will need to start whichever one she chooses in the next couple of days.

Perhaps the most shocking thing was to find out that if left untreated, she would only have two days to two weeks left to live. We are grateful that the cancer didn’t go unnoticed any longer and have faith and optimism that the chemo will work.

They are still running more tests to see if a bone marrow transplant is needed and they will continue learning more about her situation.

We are grateful for the gospel and the power of the Sprit. We are putting our trust in the Lord and know that all things are possible with Him.

Ryan and I are planning on spending time with her tomorrow. As we learn more details about her treatment and prognosis, we’ll update the blog.

One Of My Best Friends

We had quite the shock in our family yesterday and I’m not quite sure where to start.

My mom has been feeling sick for a few days now. She went into her doctor on Monday and had a few tests done. On Tuesday he asked her to come back in for a few more tests. After getting her blood taken again her doctor told her to go to the hospital thinking that the shortness of breath and fatigue she was feeling was from a possible blood clot. They did more tests making sure she didn’t have any blood clots in her legs or anything in her lungs. They kept her overnight to make sure she was alright.

She called me Wednesday morning and told me she wasn’t to well. Her doctor had informed her that she has Leukemia and yesterday afternoon they took her to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. They have determined that she has an acute, aggressive form of Leukemia, but they have to do more tests to figure out what sub-type she has and determine her treatment options and prognosis.

The next few days we will be getting more test results back. They will probably be some of the hardest days, but my Mom is a fighter and I know that we will all be able to get through this.

I wanted to say thank you to Ryan for being such a great husband and being there for me on this first day of many hard days to come. I love you babe with all my heart.

I Love Vacuuming

The other day we got a new vacuum and I love it! We had our old one for about 7 years (it was a wedding gift) and it was OK while it lasted. It did what we needed until the past year or so. We started noticing that our carpets weren't as clean as we wanted, so we had it serviced. It did a little better for a while, but it wasn't long before it sucked again...I mean wouldn't suck anymore.

So we started looking into getting a new one or I should say Ryan started looking into it. Anyone that knows Ryan knows that he usually will never buy anything unless he has all the facts and has researched the heck out of it and I’m glad he did.

We decided on a Dyson Ball and it is the best thing! I never knew how much crap and dirt was really in our carpet until the other day when I first vacuumed. I've vacuumed our upstairs carpet 3 times now and ever day I continue to get a ton of dirt and junk up.

I didn't think vacuuming could be fun, but it kind of is - for now.

Hayden’s 6th Month Checkup

Hayden had his checkup yesterday and he is doing great. I wish I could put some pictures up of him, but still no camera. I think we are getting it on Friday.

Anyway here are his stats:

Weight: 16 lbs. 6 oz. = 27% percentile

Height: 27” = 60% percentile

Everything else looked great. The doctor did comment on his crooked little mouth and smile, but Ryan and Alex have the same little mouth so I’m not too worried about it.

Fun Weekend…Poor Camera

Well it’s been some time since I have posted anything with pictures because our camera was getting fixed. The day before our trip to St. George the camera guy called and said that it would cost $140.00 to fix it. Well, you can basically buy a new camera for about that much. So we had to give it up and we’ll get a new one.
Luckily my parents were nice enough to let us borrow their camera while we went away for the weekend and here are just a few pictures of our fun weekend in warm St. George.

We went to a wild life museum, swimming, shopping and Snow Canyon. We also threw some pottery with Grandpa Gary and were able to watch him throw too.
Thursday was my birthday and my Dad made a great duch oven dinner and even made me a cake. I made the frosting and let’s just say things did not turn out quite right. Ryan and the kids gave me a gift card for an hour massage which I can’t wait to use.

All in all it was a great getaway and a great birthday. My only complaint was that it was too short and the weather in Idaho sucks. The snowy drive home yesterday, made us appreciate the trip that much more!

Quick Update

Not much has been going on around here. Connor has speech therapy once a week and O.T. therapy once a week as well so that has been keeping us busy.

Our camera is in the shop right now getting fixed so I don’t have any new pictures of the kids.

We are planning on going to St. George on the 12th of March to one, get away from this cold weather and to see my Dad. It should be fun.

Some of our upcoming events are registering Alex for Kindergarten which is crazy to me. She will also be starting soccer in April and I’ll be coaching her team.

Hayden will be starting physical therapy for torticollis (his flat head) in the next week or two. As for Ryan he is the good husband and Dad as usual and he is working hard every day for our family. What a great man.

That’s about it for us lately. Hopefully we’ll be getting our camera back soon.

Breathing Treatment

It takes about ten minuets every four hour to give Hayden his breathing treatment, for the most part he does pretty good, but really who likes having something over there month and nose. I know I hated it when I had to have oxygen when I was in labor.

Four Month Stats

Today was Hayden’s four month appointment and he is doing okay. Everything was going really well until the doctor listened to his lungs. He said that they were rattling and so I told him he had a cough for the past couple weeks or so, but that he was doing fine and his sleeping and eating habits hadn’t really changed.

The doctor was a little concerned so he did an oxygen test which came back okay but not great. They he told me he thought Hayden was at the tail end of RSV. Great RSV just what my 4 month old needs. Luckily it’s at the tail end and there isn’t too much to worry about. He gave us a prescription for a nebulizer machine and medication and would like us to use it for a couple of days to make him comfortable and able to breathe a little better.

Other then that Hayden is doing really well his stats are…

Weight 13 Lb. 13oz. (65^th percentile)

Height 25 ¼ “ (80^th percentile)

I can’t believe my baby girl is 5 years old today. I pulled the past four years of birthday’s together to see how much she has changed. She’s had a fun day so far and because it’s her birthday, she get’s to be a little spoiled.

I don’t have today’s because she is at school and we are waiting until tonight when we all go to Leo’s Place and celebrate. Yes she chose Leo’s Place (a local kid friendly restaurant with a play area) to have her little family dinner.

Hard At Work

The other day I changed the batters in Connors ball popper. It hadn’t been working for some time.
Well today Alex must have turned it off when she was done playing with it because when he went to play with it, it wasn’t working and this is what I found him doing when I walked into the kitchen.

He had pulled out two screw drivers from the junk drawer and was trying to fix it him self. I let him work on it for a little bit then I turned it on. I think he thought he really fixed it by him self

Oh Baby!

This past weekend I went down to Utah for two baby showers. I was helping host a baby shower for my good friend Andelyne and her new baby girl Soleil. She was born on Oct. 30th. It was great to see a bunch of old friends and catch up with everyone.
I was went to my sister-in-law’s baby shower who is having a girl in February and lets just say after this weekend I really miss all the girly stuff - maybe next time - which won’t be for a while. For now I’ll just have to enjoy everyone else’s baby girls.
It really was a fun weekend. One of the things that made it so enjoyable is that Ryan was good enough to stay home with Alex and Connor so it was just me and Hayden that traveled. It was great to have the three hour drive alone and Hayden did so well. I only had to stop once on the way home for about 20 min. to calm him down. I really got lucky with him; he is such a good baby.

A Quick Summary of Christmas

We got home last night from our 6 day Christmas vacation which was great.

We were able to see my Dad and grandparents on Tuesday and Christmas Eve with Ryan’s family was a lot of fun as usual. The kids really enjoyed themselves, Alex loves playing with her cousins. One bummer about living far away is that our kids don’t get to play with their cousins as much as we would like. But, I guess that makes the time they do have together that much better.

Christmas morning was great. The kids both got one big present and then a few little things. Connor’s big gift was a Lightning McQueen car that talks, dances, and drives around. Alex’s was a Dora and Pegasus horse that she loves. Ryan and I decided not to do anything for each other (since Christmas came early for us in the form of a TV and new van), but his sister talked him in to spending $20 on me because there was a huge scrap booking sale down in Utah, so I got a ton of stuff. Now I really need to do some scrap booking and I don’t have any excuses.

All in all it was a fun week. Ryan had a lot of fun playing and spending time with the kids. We are all happy to finally be home. Unfortunately Ryan came down with a sinus infection on Friday night. Hopefully he’ll feel better soon. Connor must have caught a little bug yesterday too. Right when we got home he threw up and now has a high fever and is really grumpy. Poor little guy. Even with these little sicknesses, Christmas was great and we feel blessed.

Christmas Vacation

We are all packed up and ready to leave. We are heading down to Utah for our week long
Christmas vacation.

First is a Christmas party today with my Dads family. Tomorrow night a Christmas Eve dinner with Ryan's family and of course Christmas morning brunch at my Moms. The rest of the week we will just visit friends and family. What a great time of the year.

Just A Little Update

It’s been some time now since my last post so I thought I’d write a little post Thanksgiving update. I’m still down in Utah. We came down Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. We had a really nice Thanksgiving Day with Ryan’s family. Ryan’s cute, pregnant sister did an amazing job hosting our get together. Thanks Karen – you never cease to amaze!
Ryan went home on Sunday and I stayed hoping to get some scrapbooking done which hasn’t happened and probably won’t. I also stayed because Ryan will be baptizing one of our nephews on Saturday and on Sunday his sister Lisa’s baby will be blessed and we’ll be blessing Hayden as well. I didn’t really feel like making the drive down more then I really needed to so I stuck around. Poor Ryan, he had to go back to work.
It has been a pretty uneventful week so far, well kind of. On Monday I bought a new Minivan that I’m really excited about! But, I have to wait until Friday to get it when Ryan comes down so we can both sign all the paper work. I can’t wait to get it - as soon as I do I’ll post pictures and write more about it.

Whack-A-Baby

Well today Connor showed his first true signs of jealousy towards Hayden. After getting Connor out of the tub and dressing him I went to feed Hayden and Connor didn’t like that I stopped paying attention to him, so he started lightly kicking me. I moved and he stopped then he stood up walked over to me and Hayden and softly whacked him on the head with his hand. Hayden didn’t cry, but Connor was pretty pleased with himself then he walked away and started playing.

I had a little talk with him, but really, who knows if he understood any of it. I have to say six weeks and this is the first mean thing he has done, which isn’t too bad, but then again it’s never good either. I’ll just have to watch Connor more closely from now on and try to give him more attention.

Mastitis What Is It?

The definition of mastitis:

“Mastitis is a breast infection that can leave you feeling as if you've come down with the flu. You may notice areas of redness, hardness, soreness, or heat in your breast, and swelling of the affected milk duct. Common, and more serious, signs of the infection include chills, a fever of 101 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, and fatigue.”

Yep, I got it again. This is now the 4th time I have had mastitis, but the first with Hayden and I think I can say that this one was the worst of the bunch. It started last Friday night and the soreness and redness has still been lingering. I think Saturday was the worst. I had a fever between a 101 and 103.5 all day, chills, nausea and I even threw up. My fever finely broke around 4:00 am on Sunday morning. To make things even worse I also was trying to fight off a cold with no luck because the cold has got worse throughout the week.

With that said, I am so thankful and in debt to my wonderful husband who took care of me and all three kids. Getting up with Hayden at night, up early with Connor in the morning and he was even able to get a little cleaning done around the house. I’m not quite sure how to thank him. He truly is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you so much babe and thanks for every thing you have done for me and the kids.
